If you're ready to design your hardscape, start with a contractor who builds both the outdoor space and the roof above it. PPB Roofs And Restoration handles patios, pavers, and outdoor living as a dedicated second pillar, not a side gig. That matters because a properly designed hardscape accounts for drainage, roof runoff, and grade before a single paver goes down. We're fully insured, hold a 5-star rating across 54 Google reviews, and we cover the full Fort Bend County area. Call (832) 386-9606 to start planning.

Good hardscape design solves three things at once: function, drainage, and how the space connects to your home's exterior. What drives cost up is scope, materials, and site conditions. A basic paver patio on flat ground is a very different project from a multi-level outdoor living area with a pergola, fire feature, and integrated drainage. We bring samples, walk the site, explain the options without pushing the most expensive one, and give you a clear picture of what you're buying before anything gets approved. Every job is different, contact PPB Roofs And Restoration for an accurate estimate.

How It Works

Three Steps From Idea to Finished Outdoor Space

  1. Tell Us What You're After

Call or submit a request. We want to know how you use your backyard now, what's missing, and what budget you're working toward. No pressure, no hard sell at this stage.

  2. Site Walk and Design Session

We assess the grade, drainage, and how the space connects to your home. We bring material samples, lay out options, and give you a clear recommendation, not just the priciest one.

  3. Build, Clean Up, Done

We handle installation start to finish. Before we leave, the site is clean and the space is ready to use. We back our outdoor work with a 10-25 year warranty on qualifying installations.

What We Build

Hardscape services that work for Fort Bend County's heat, clay soil, and drainage patterns.

01

Paver Patios

Concrete pavers, natural stone, or travertine. We set proper bedding and edge restraints so the surface stays level through Texas freeze-thaw cycles and heavy rain events.

02

Walkways and Driveways

Paver driveways hold up better than poured concrete in Fort Bend County's expansive clay soil. Individual units flex slightly; a slab cracks and stays cracked.

03

Retaining Walls

Grade changes and drainage issues call for a proper wall, not just topsoil. We build to code with the right drainage aggregate behind the wall so it doesn't blow out in a heavy storm.

04

Pergolas and Cover Structures

A covered outdoor space is usable nine months of the year in the Houston climate. We tie into the existing structure correctly so the roof above it stays intact.

05

Fire Features and Outdoor Kitchens

Built-in fire pits and outdoor kitchens add function and resale value. We source materials that hold up to Texas UV and humidity without the maintenance headache.

06

Drainage Integration

Clay soil plus Houston rain is a standing water problem waiting to happen. Every hardscape we design accounts for where the water goes, French drains, channel drains, or regrading as needed.

Why It Matters

Hardscape and Roofing Are Connected. Most Contractors Miss That.

A backyard patio and outdoor living space with pergola, furniture, fire pit, and built-in grill, not roofing contractor work or products.

Roof runoff lands somewhere. If your patio, walkway, or foundation is that somewhere, you've got a problem we can prevent.

We're not a dedicated landscape company that added hardscaping to a menu. We're a roofing and restoration contractor that builds outdoor living because the two projects overlap more than homeowners realize. Where your downspouts terminate, how your patio slopes away from the foundation, whether a pergola post placement conflicts with a soffit. These are things a crew that only thinks about pavers will miss. Ours won't. If you've already looked into a roof inspection or replacement, this is the right time to plan the outdoor space too, so nothing has to get torn up twice. Financing is available for qualifying projects.

What We Cover: Every Hardscape Project

  1. 01

    Site Walk and Drainage Assessment

We assess before we design. Grade, runoff, and soil conditions determine what's buildable and what isn't.

  2. 02

    Material Selection With Samples

We bring the samples to your site so you see how colors and textures look in your actual light and against your home exterior.

  3. 03

    Code-Compliant Installation

Proper base depth, compaction, edge restraints, and drainage aggregate. The details that make the difference between a patio that lasts and one that shifts.

  4. 04

    Warranty and Follow-Through

10-25 year warranty on qualifying work. We're a local, insured business, not a crew that shows up after a storm and disappears.

What Homeowners Ask Before Starting a Hardscape Project

Still have a question?

Ask the team directly. We pick up, and a straight answer costs nothing.

How do I know if pavers or poured concrete is better for my yard?
In Fort Bend County, pavers win almost every time for patios and walkways. Expansive clay soil shifts seasonally, and a rigid concrete slab will crack and stay cracked. Individual pavers move with the soil and can be releveled. Poured concrete still makes sense for some driveways where load-bearing is the priority. We'll tell you which is right after we've seen your site.
Does my hardscape design need to account for roof drainage?
It does, and most contractors skip this step. Downspout discharge, gutter placement, and roof slope all affect where water accumulates around your home. If your patio isn't graded away from the foundation and your downspouts don't terminate past the hardscape edge, you're directing water toward your slab. We look at both when we design the outdoor space.
Can you build a pergola or cover structure attached to my house?
Yes. Attached structures require more care than freestanding ones because the ledger board connects to your home's framing and must be flashed correctly to prevent water intrusion. We handle the connection between the pergola and the roofline. That's not something a crew without roofing experience typically gets right the first time.
What's the typical timeline for a paver patio installation?
Most residential paver patios run one to three days of on-site work, depending on size, site prep requirements, and whether drainage work is included. Larger projects with retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, or cover structures take longer. We give you a realistic timeline upfront and don't give you a start date we can't keep.
Do hardscape projects qualify for financing through PPB?
Financing is available for qualifying outdoor living and hardscape projects. We can walk you through options when we do the site assessment. We don't discuss specific financing terms until we've seen the scope. Every project is different, and we won't give you a number that doesn't reflect what you're actually building. Contact us at (832) 386-9606 to get started.
How does Texas heat and UV affect hardscape materials?
UV and heat cycle stress are real factors here. Some natural stones lighten or scale over time without a penetrating sealer. Cheap pavers fade and become porous. We specify materials rated for the Houston climate and we'll tell you what maintenance looks like before you commit, not after. See our patios and outdoor living page for more on material options.
Can PPB design the hardscape and handle a roof replacement at the same time?
Yes, and doing both together is smarter. Sequencing matters: roof work should come first so downspout placement and drainage are finalized before pavers go down. We scope both in a single site visit and build a sequenced project plan so nothing has to get torn up twice. Contact us to schedule a combined site walk.

  • PPB Roof and Restoration were excellent on my roof replacement. They were not high pressure, nor did they try to up-sell on products I didn’t need. Their prices were more than fair. The entire process was easy and very straightforward. They completed our entire roof in one day. David my project manager and AJ the owner were both very helpful and responsive. We are very happy with the results and strongly recommend the company.

  • Ayden Diaz and Prime Property Builders offered a complimentary inspection of my roof when they were doing some repairs in my neighborhood. They were nice and honest. They did not find much problem with my roof except normal wears and some nail holes. They came back the other day and caulked the holes for free to prevent possible leaking as heavy rains forecasted to come next day! I do appreciate their honest, consideration, and community spirit! I would do business with them in the future.

  • I was approached by several other roofing companies that did not help with my insurance claim. So, when AJ Diaz stopped by, it was difficult to believe that he would be different. However, he was very knowledgeable about the entire insurance process and about roofing products, so I let him start the process. I am very happy that I did. He walked me through every step of the process and kept me informed of where my claim stood and what I needed to do next. He was on-site during the insurance company inspection and helped me find an independent inspector when my claim went to arbitration. He was happy to take the time to answer all my many many questions. Once my claim was finally approved, he helped me select roofing products that were best for my house, had a good quality guarantee, and the color that I wanted. He was able to explain the difference in the products and how they were installed. So, I feel like I made an informed decision. I also had gutters replaced that made everything look so good with the new roof. See the pictures! AJ was also on-site during the installation and came back afterwards to make sure I was happy. I am so happy by the way everything turned out. I highly recommend him and his company.

What distinguished their service was the level of support provided after the installation. I would confidently recommend their services to anyone in Katy or the greater Houston area seeking high-quality roofing solutions and reliable, customer-focused service.
